The UW-BSC Campus Commission is soliciting proposals for comprehensive design services for a new science facility. Proposals should include a needs assessment, site planning and evaluation, alternative development, programming, schematic design, design development, construction documents, bidding assistance, and construction administration for a new building. They should also include remodeling plans for the campus' existing science facilities that will be converted into a space for general studies.
Says Baraboo Mayor Mike Palm, "The city and county both recognize the value of UW-BSC in our community, and understand the importance of a modern campus in attracting high-caliber faculty and students."
UW-BSC CEO and Dean Thomas Pleger agrees. "We are pleased to see the science building project moving forward," he says. "These facilities will improve the overall student experience, enhance faculty and staff scholarship and research, and allow us to better serve our community by providing state-of-the-art science facilities that will match our outstanding faculty."
The deadline for submitting proposals is 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 11. The complete RFP may be downloaded from the City of Baraboo or Sauk County websites, or an electronic copy may be obtained by calling (608) 355-2700 or (608) 355-3274.
