Extreme cold closes campus from Noon Tuesday 1/29-Thursday 1/31

UW-Platteville Baraboo Sauk County Interim Dean Ed Janairo issued the following statement on Tuesday January 29, 2019

"Due to record-breaking low temperatures and wind chills, UW-Platteville Chancellor Dennis J. Shields has authorized the closure of all UW-Platteville campuses, including UW-Platteville Baraboo Sauk County, to the public, including the cancelation of all classes and postponement of events and activities as of 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Tuesday, January 29 through Thursday, January 31.  Classes are currently scheduled to resume Friday February 1.  During the period of closure, only essential employees will be required to report to work, which include staff from the following operational areas:


• Information Technology

• Dining Services

• Maintenance

• Public Information Office

• Residence Life 

All persons are encouraged to take all necessary steps to ensure individual safety at all times during this weather event.  Do not take any unnecessary risks.  This is an extreme weather event.


We will continue to monitor the weather forecast and update the campus community if there are any changes to this information. Please continue to monitor campus email communications and text messages for any updates or changes to this schedule during this inclement weather.
