2014-2015 will be my fourth year at UW-BSC, and each year and semester has been a unique and wonderful experience for me. As an assistant professor in the Department of Health, Exercise Science, and Athletics, I have the opportunity to teach a variety of cool courses such as Fitness for Life, Theory of Coaching, Social Aspects of Sport, and Advanced Concepts of Personal Training. At UW-BSC I've also been fortunate to lead students on a number of outdoor trips throughout Wisconsin and even into the Rocky Mountains of Colorado!
I received my bachelor's and master's degrees from UW-La Crosse, and am currently working toward a doctoral degree from the University of Louisiana-Monroe. Outside of campus you can usually find me doing anything active, such as running, biking, lifting weights, or playing golf. But when I'm not activie I'll likely be having some valuable leisure time watching my beloved Packers, Badgers, and Brewers with my wife of three years, Stephanie, or catching our Fighting Spirits athletic teams in action.
My office is L124 on the lower level of the Lange Center. I encourage you to stop by anytime to visit, or to email me at matthew.fencl@uwc.edu.
Go Spirits!
