UW-Baraboo/Sauk County is situated in Wisconsin’s “Driftless Region,” which makes for some spectacular surroundings. Students can take a day trip to Devils Lake state park, explore Pewit’s Nest state natural area or blow off steam in the popular vacation destination Wisconsin Dells.

With a student population of just over 550 students, faculty and advisors at UW-Baraboo/Sauk County are able to give the very best instruction, guidance and mentorship to each and every student. The tight-knit campus community means each student gets the attention they deserve.

Thanks to generous support from the Baraboo/Sauk County community, UW-Baraboo/Sauk County recently opened a brand new science building. The newest addition to campus houses state-of-the-art classrooms and labs for chemistry, biology, botany and anatomy courses.

Students  at UW-Baraboo/Sauk County don't have to leave the sports they love behind when they finish high school. They have the opportunity to play a college sport  as part of the UW-Baraboo/Sauk County Fighting Spirits athletic teams.

5) Show off your work in the Spirit Lake Review

UW-Baraboo/Sauk County’s Spirit Lake Review is a literary magazine put out every year featuring fiction, poetry, art and more from students and community members. The publication gives students an opportunity to share their passion and talents with a broad audience.

6) Play a round of disc golf right on campus

To our knowledge, UW-Baraboo/Sauk County is the ONLY college campus in Wisconsin with a disc golf course! Anyone up for a game?

7) Live in student housing

Students can experience living in on-campus housing thanks to the Fighting Spirits Villas located right on UW-Baraboo/Sauk County’s campus. The furnished apartments, study room, fitness center, monthly events and energetic community have students calling the Villas home in no time. 

8) Connect with the community through the arts and theatre programs 

Students and community members alike come together at UW-Baraboo/Sauk County to participate in theatre productions, play in community bands and present works in the art gallery. Students and community also come together during the Summerset Festival of the Arts every August.

9) Concerts on the square 

Every summer, students and community members can enjoy Concerts on the Square in Downtown Baraboo. These weekly events have something for everyone from jazz to classical, to Big Band and more.

10) Foundation scholarships for current students

Thanks to generous donations from alumni and community members, students at UW-Baraboo/Sauk County can apply for thousands of dollars in scholarships given away every year. It’s another way UW Colleges makes higher education even more affordable.
