UW-BSC Honor Society Raises $850 for Scholarships

The UW-BSC Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society raised $850 for academic scholarships at this year's Taste of the Dells on June 8 and 9. PTK members Sally Miller, Cindy Marthaler, Sara Seifert, Nicole Warren, Ellen Weiland, PTK Chapter Advisor and Library Director Marc Boucher, and volunteer Tim Carney teamed up with The Country Keg/Baja Cantina of Wisconsin Dells to serve dishes including boom boom shrimp skewers and barbecue brisket sliders.
This was the group's most successful fundraiser to date, and PTK extends sincere thanks to The Country Keg for donating all proceeds from this event towards scholarships.
The Country Keg/Baja Cantina also raised funds for PTK in a March 16 St. Patrick's Day event featuring corned beef hash for breakfast and corned beef and cabbage for lunch and dinner. In all, the business has helped the honor society raise more than $1,000.
Phi Theta Kappa is the official honor society of two-year-colleges. For more information about the UW-BSC Chapter, contact Marc Boucher at (608) 355-5249. More information about UW-Baraboo/Sauk County is available at baraboo.uwc.edu.
