UW-Baraboo/Sauk County invites the community to attend the Spring 2013 Distinguished Lecture Series. All lectures are free and open to the public.
On Tuesday, February 26 at 12:30pm, Dr. Dale Murray of the UW-BSC Philosophy Department will deliver a presentation entitled "Frac Sand Mining and Non-human Animals in Wisconsin." The lecture will be held in the Umhoefer Classroom Building.
Join Ryan Petty, Ph.D. student in Biochemistry at UW-Madison and UW-BSC Alumnus, for "From Proteins to Pathogens: What Molecular Interactions Can Tell Us About Viral Infections." The lecture will be held on Thursday, March 28 at 5pm in the RG Brown Theatre. Following the presentation, all are invited to the P.L.A.N.S. Post-Lecture Alumni Networking Social in the Wankerl Cafeteria. For a $15 donation to the UW-BSC Alumni Association, participants will have a chance to meet and greet lecturer Ryan Petty, network with fellow alumni, faculty, and friends, and enjoy gourmet appetizers and a cash bar. On Thursday, April 18 at 12:30pm, Dr. Frances Auld of the UW-BSC English Department will discuss "Apocalypse Now-ish: Apocalyptic Imagery in Contemporary Fiction and Film." The presentation will be held in the Umhoefer Classroom Building.
