The UW-Baraboo/Sauk County Student Government Association has partnered with the American Red Cross to host a Nov. 8 blood drive on campus.
In recent days, hurricane Sandy has forced the cancellation of nearly 300 blood drives throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. Organizers of the UW-BSC event are encouraging donations to support the local blood supply and to help make up for the shortfall of blood in affected disaster areas.
“Our goal is 65 pints,” say Stephanie Schuebel, UW-BSC’s Student Government Association President. “We are hoping to exceed that.”
WHERE: UW-Baraboo/Sauk County Gymnasium 1006 Connie Road, Baraboo, WI 53913
WHEN: Thurs., Nov. 8, 2012 9:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
According to Schuebel, the campus drive is a “give a pint, get a pint” event: all donors will receive a coupon for a free pint of Culver’s frozen custard. For more information or to schedule an appointment to give blood, call 1-800-448-3543 or visit www.redcrossblood.org.
