Lost Items

All items are considered lost and billable after 60 days past due date. There will be a $100 fine in addition to overdue fines for each lost item. Arrangements can be made to replace lost item with an EXACT replacement purchased by the patron.

How do you get a "library card" in order to check out items?

Upon presentation of a driver's license or other valid Wisconsin I.D. showing current address, individuals who are 18 years or older may register for a free borrower card. We will take your name, I.D. number, address and phone number to enter into our patron database. We will have you sign a borrower card and laminate it for you. Upon subsequent visits, simply present your borrower card in order to check out additional items.

What else should you know about the library privileges?

To renew a loan (one time per item), please stop by or call the library at 608-355-5251.

We are able to offer interlibrary loan services between the 13 2-year UW Colleges campuses. However we are not able to offer interlibrary loan (ILL) services beyond this to community borrowers. Our ILL services are limited to current UW-Baraboo/Sauk County students, faculty, and staff. You may obtain ILL services at your local public library, which has access to all the same materials via ILL that we do.

Library staff members are here to assist, please ask.
