UW-Baraboo/Sauk County will hold an electronics recycling event Saturday, Oct. 6, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is open to the public, and items that can be dropped off for free include computers, monitors, printers, laptops, TVs, cell phones, stereo equipment, microwaves and large household appliances.
There is a small fee for items that contain Freon or other materials requiring special disposal: $25 for refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, and dehumidifiers; $30 for wood console and projection TVs; and $10 a pair for wood speakers. Optional computer hard drive cleansing service is also available for $10.
Organizers cannot accept fluorescent bulbs, smoke detectors, or items containing biohazards, hazardous waste, or liquids.
