UW-BSC's Office of Continuing Education still has a few spaces open for an upcoming supervisory skills course. "The Effective Supervisor: Keys to Great Leadership" will be held from 8:30 to 11 a.m. on Friday, May 3 in UW-BSC's Umhoefer Classroom Building. The session is geared toward beginning and experienced supervisors who want to enjoy their workplace more and find greater satisfaction in working with their employees. Supervisors will learn how to motivate and tune in to the needs of staff, be a supportive coach, delegate projects, correct poor performance and negative behavior, and bring out the best in their employees.
Instructor Jack Harkins, founder of Harkins Leadership Development Corporation, will teach the latest leadership skills while helping participants gain management insight. "Jack is great at providing practical information that supervisors can use in their daily work. Participants come away from the workshop with many tools to help them work more effectively with their employees," said Continuing Education Director Cindy McVenes.
The course fee is $89. To register online, visit the Continuing Education page at baraboo.uwc.edu, or call (608) 355-5220.
