2014-2015 Academic Year

For New Students (very recent high school graduates)



Friends of the Campus/Stroede Academic Merit Award ($750/Fall & Spring)


For outstanding academic achievement and leadership during high school. Spring scholarships will be awarded to recipients who continue full-time enrollment, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.



Weiland Leadership Awards–2 ($600/Fall & Spring)


Open to full-time, new freshmen in the top 20% of their high school classes, with a record of academic achievement and school/community involvement. Spring scholarships will be awarded to recipients who continue full-time enrollment, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.



John B. Young, Jr./Friends Freshman Scholarship ($500/Fall & Spring)


Open to all new freshmen having just graduated from Baraboo High School. Extra-curricular school and community involvement will be considered in addition to academic achievement.



Wells Fargo Bank Outstanding Achievement Award ($500/Fall)


Open to full-time freshmen with outstanding high school achievement and community involvement.



Friends of the Campus Musicianship Award ($325/Fall & Spring)


For students pursuing studies in instrumental and vocal music. Applicants must receive recommendations from their high school music directors and audition with UW-B/SC faculty. For information, contact professor Claude Cailliet. 



Friends of the Campus Freshman Scholarships–3 ($300/Fall & Spring)

Open to new freshmen with outstanding high school achievement and involvement. Spring scholarships will automatically be awarded for students who continue full-time enrollment and achieve a minimum GPA of 2.5  on full-time fall studies.



Theodore & Kathryn Savides Promising Scholar Award ($250/Fall)

Open to students with significant potential for college success. Applicants must submit letters of recommendation from current or former teachers.

For Returning Adults (beginning/resuming college at age 22 or older)



Friends of the Campus Adult Incentive Scholarship ($500/Fall)


Open to students age 22 or older who are returning to school after being away several years. New freshmen or those who have completed only a few college credits are eligible. 



Mark & Alice Vladick Memorial Scholarship (Tuition for one 3-credit class)


Open to adult students who are returning to school after several years away. 



Shirley Groy Scholarship (Tuition for one 3-credit class)


Open to adult students who are returning to school after several years away.



Vintage Spirits Scholarships–2 ($150/Fall)


Awarded to one full-time and one part-time returning adult student, age 22 or older.



Bill Dutch Grant ($100/Fall)


Open to students who are beginning or returning to college after several years away from school, and who have not yet completed 30 college credits.



Patricia Cross Helland Grant ($100/Fall)


Open to students who are beginning or returning to college after several years away from school, and who have not yet completed 30 college credits.



Jenny Eddy Nursing Scholarships for Returning Adult Students-2 ($500/Fall & Spring)


Open to students who plan to pursue an associate or baccalaureate degree in nursing. Students must carry at least 6 credits each semester and earn a minimum 2.5 GPA fall semester to continue the scholarship spring semester. 



For Continuing Students (having recently earned some college credit) 

Thomas R. & Getrude A. Regan Scholarship ($500/Fall)


Open to students who plan to continue studies at UW-BSC. A cumulative GPA of at least a 2.5 is required. Preference will be given to students who have demonstrated interest in pursuing history or the sciences as a major. 



Life Sciences Scholarship ($500/Fall)


Open to students majoring in any area of life sciences (biology, nursing, natural resources, dairy science, pharmacy, pre-medicine, bacteriology, etc.). Applicants must have earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on full-time study during the previous semester.



American Association of University Women (AAUW) Scholarships–($700/Fall)


Open to female students who are either continuing at UW-BSC or transferring to continue academic work towards a bachelor's degree. Applicants may be full or part-time students and must have completed at least 24 credits at UW-BSC, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.

Tod Meserow/Friends of the Campus Scholarships– ($1,250/Fall & Spring)


Need-based scholarships for students who have achieved a minimum 2.5 GPA on previous work at UW-BSC. Selection will be based on need as presented in the FAFSA application for financial aid. Applicants' aid applications must be completed and submitted in a timely manner in order to qualify. Awards will be continued spring semester based upon completion of a fall semester full-time credit load and maintaining a 2.5 cumulative GPA. 



Dean Michael Brophy Fine Arts Scholarship ($750/Fall)


Open to continuing students who began college studies at UW-BSC and have completed a minimum of two full-time semesters. A cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 is required. Preference will be given to students who have demonstrated interest in one or more of the arts – including film, music and theatre – during their time at UW-BSC.



Inez Musch Memorial Scholarship ($500/Fall)


Open to full-time students who have completed at least 2 semesters, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5. Preference will be given to applicants who have interests in horticulture, creative writing, and/or music (in that order).



Schwalbach Sophomore Art Scholarship ($500/Fall)


Open to students who have earned 24 credits, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5. Applicants must submit a portfolio of their work-consult art professor Letha Kelsey for specific application instructions.



Faculty-Staff Distinguished Scholar Award–2 ($500/Fall)


Open to students who have completed one full-time year at UW-BSC, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Applicants must submit 2 letters of recommendation – at least one of which must be from a UW-BSC faculty member who instructed them.



Field Family Scholarship ($250/Fall & Spring)


Open to students who have completed one full-time year at UW-BSC with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.  Although not a requirement, preference will be given to applicants who are graduates of Wisconsin Dells High School and who have interests in the hospitality and hotel industry. 



Jenny Eddy Nursing Scholarships for Continuing Students-2 ($500 Fall & Spring)


Open to returning adult students who are pursuing an associate or baccalaureate nursing degree. Students must carry a minimum of 6 credits each semester and maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA in order to continue the scholarship into spring semester.



Mary Ann Durand Music Scholarship ($350/Spring)


Open to students who have completed at least 12 credits, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5. Applicants should be declared music majors with an emphasis in voice and/or piano, in preparation for a career in performance or music education. Applicants must submit two letters of reference and one essay that discusses musical background and  educational 
and future plans.



Sauk County Art Association Scholarship ($350/Fall)


Open to students who plan to continue studies at UW-BSC. Applicants must submit a portfolio of their work-consult art professor Letha Kelsey for specific application instructions.



Friends of the Campus Adult Freshman Scholarships–2 ($500/Fall)

Open to full-time students age 22 or older who are working towards bachelor's degrees and who have not yet completed more than 30 credits. Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25.



Friends of the Campus Continuing Student Scholarships–2 ($500/Fall)


For students who began as freshman at UW-BSC and plan to stay through a second year.



Alphonse C. Henke Music Scholarship ($250/Fall)


Open to students enrolled in music courses, earning a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5. Preference will be given to music majors. Financial need will be considered and should be discussed in one of the required essays.



Aural & Paul Umhoefer Study/Travel Scholarship ($200/Semester)


Awarded to students who participate for credit in any of the UW Colleges Study Abroad opportunities.

Kassi Dallmann Memorial Scolarship ($500/Fall) 

Open to students having the ability to achieve goals. Preference will be given to applicants with strengths in theatre; alternatively math and sciences. Letters of reference from faculty in the appropriate areas should be included with the application.
