Welcome to the University of Wisconsin-Baraboo/Sauk County! Located in the picturesque setting of the Baraboo hills, UW-BSC offers student-centered, freshman-sophomore liberal arts programming, which can serve as the foundation for virtually any major.
Our classes are taught by outstanding faculty who are dedicated to teaching and committed to their fields of study. With the lowest tuition in the UW System and an average class size of 22, we offer the kind of access to instruction that is typically reserved for upper-level students at larger campuses. All of this makes us an exceptional value...and your best start on a bachelor's degree and unlimited career possibilities.
Our Community
The UW-BSC campus community includes approximately 600 students and 90 faculty and staff. We offer a number of innovative programs to help students succeed:
- A comprehensive First-Year Experience program for incoming freshman
- Friendly, knowledgeable advisors who are available to help every step of the way
- Honors and internships programs, which provide opportunities for hands-on learning
- A wide range of extracurricular activities, including athletics, student government, theatre and music
- Online courses and collaborative programs, which provide flexibility and convenience in earning an associate’s or bachelor’s degree
As a campus dedicated to community development, we partner with a variety of non-profit groups and private businesses to provide innovative programming; our Continuing Education Office delivers credit and non-credit offerings to more than 2,000 students and community members annually.
Innovations & Invitations
We are currently involved in several initiatives to enhance teaching and learning:
- A brand new Bachelor of Applied Arts & Sciences (BAAS) Degree
- Development of new science facilities, scheduled to open in fall 2015
- Exploration of options for bringing student housing to campus
As your local UW, we strive to provide access to higher education, cultural enrichment, and lifelong learning. I invite you to explore UW-BSC online and in person, and I look forward to seeing you on campus in the near future!
